Details:

Station masters booth may be a possible repaint but not certain. The slightly arched front sign that is just in front of the station masters booth that says greed hoyden has two insertion metal pieces that are attached to each side of the metal posts just below the arched sign, there was one inserted sign on each end that are missing. Overall size of base platform is inches deep by inches long.

The station master is in his control booth, passengers are gathered near and around the arched hall arcade for arriving and departing trains. Each figure can be inserted in each of the individual manufactured holes, a truly unique method of displaying these small figures on the base platform, one figure is included with this station. The early Marklin six head telegraph system on top was the first of a series made from 1902 to 1909 which provided staff personnel incoming and out going communications.

At night time, the passengers enjoy the dim glow of candle lit rooms on each side of the station that reflects shadows on the stations inside walls due to the beautiful etched glass windows which are a delight for the romantic couple. The hand painted colors of this particular Marklin toy train station is of the sugar paint range, one of the most beloved stations of around 1902 to 1910 that Marklin ever produced. The guard rail chains that are fastened to the guard rail posts all around the base station platform seems to be replacements.

For your consideration is a nice original example of a Marklin toy train station with a double mansard roof, shows the influence of french architect buildings of the 1880's, such as the gore d' OHSA, Paris France. RCA member since I heard that reproduction signs are available via internet search.

The inclement weather has taken a toll on some passengers, they gather under each of the charming and beautiful outside canopy's on each end of the station, while others decide to take inside shelter. Early Marklin passenger figures and the alike were manufactured with a stem pin inserted on each bottom figure. The overall appearance of the station is all original paint with play wear, scratches, some pitted rust spots, and paint chips.
